The 4*-Sunderland Hotel is a family-run business located in the old town centre of Sundern in the Sauerland region. It has 55 rooms, a sauna, conference rooms and its own restaurant. A special highlight of the hotel is its African decorative style.
The family-owned 4* hotel offers a taste of Africa in the middle of the Sauerland region. A partner hotel in Kenya provides the African décor that can be found throughout the hotel. This gives guests a chance to enjoy themselves far away from the stress of everyday life and explore the nature park and the nearby Lake Sorpe for a little variation from the African-looking interiors of the hotel in Sundern, Sauerland.
In order to fully satisfy the guests, fast service is one of the most important criteria. It is particularly important that the room maintenance personnel work together seamlessly and that the required materials are quickly available at all times so as not to disrupt the processes. To this end, the hotel has decided to reorganise the central supply points, which are located on each level, in a new and more effective way for the room maintenance staff. Since SCHULTE Lagertechnik offers special solutions for the hotel industry directly on site, it was not difficult to find the right partner.
The limited space available in the hotel industry for the storage of hygiene products as well as towels and bed linens was a challenge SCHULTE Lagertechnik had faced before, and so it was possible to draw on an extensive wealth of experience.
With its extensive range of accessories, the modular MULTIplus shelving system developed by SCHULTE Lagertechnik is ideally suited to these complex logistics requirements in the hotel industry. Corner shelving can be optimally used to make the most efficient use of available space, especially in small rooms. In addition, there is the system perforation of the shelves at a distance of 50 mm. This enables a very flexible and individual introduction of the accessories for the organisation of the storage goods within the shelves.
When storing fresh laundry, strict hygiene requirements must be observed in order to guarantee consistent quality at all times. The shelving racks from SCHULTE Lagertechnik have an impact- and scratch-resistant as well as dust-repellent surface, which is applied in an electrostatic plastic powder spraying process (“EPS process” for short). It is also possible to have the shelves painted in the colours of the house – white and green in the case of the Sunderland Hotel.
Thanks to the newly designed central supply point, processes can now be made even more efficient, as all products can be found and sorted quickly and specifically. In addition, due to the high load-bearing capacity of the shelves, heavy stocks can now be stored just as safely as light towels or bed linen.
